delivered at home baby was fully in the sac with very little warning
mom nursed previous baby for a year
mom said he keeps falling off the breast
believes she typically has oversupply but concerned because this time she didn't leak milk during her pregnancy so was worried her baby wasn't getting enough milk
I heard clicking noises when he was latched. Good swallowing though. I checked and there is a gap between his lips and the breast in the corner where the tongue should be. I checked his tongue and it doesn't fully latch onto my finger and doesn't come forward enough
.told her it may be worth it to see an osteopath but showed her laid back position to possibly help with the clicking until then
As we talked I noticed the baby was making sounds in his sleep and his throat looked like it was collapsing as he breathed and wasn't sure if there was any connection so I asked nurse t check. She said it was fine but I wanted to ask you if you think there could possibly be any connection. and maybe what else I could have offered her in assistance.
