mom is using nipple shield (as she did with baby #1 too – who had a tongue tie but was born in America and they said not worth to cut it)
dad had a tongue tie that was cut
she has immense pain nursing without the shield
baby also has a tongue tie and there is some clicking while nursing or on the bottle
baby was too hysterical to latch on breast or nipple shield so fed him ~70cc of her pumped milk
came back around 2 hours later to help with the latch without the shield but baby falls of easily after a few minutes
was very hard to latch baby on her own without the nipple shield and she tried many times
I told her to do the best she can right now and to schedule to see a tongue tie specialist and right after an appointment with lactation consultant to help make sure she can get a proper latch and allow baby to only nurse on her breast after the tongue is cut
but in the meantime she can also pump and give a bottle if it is easier since she has a lot of milk. She pumps 90cc easily

so until then I told her to try pumping after each nursing session so that she doesn't get too engorged and she has a supply to give him bottles if necessary, She can use the nipple shield in the meantime if that is more comfortable for her and also sometimes try without and then the consultant will help her get it all sorted at home.
