worried baby isn't eating well
mom doesn't feel lots of milk like after her 3rd baby which was also a c section
I explained how important it is to feed every 2-3 hours and wake her
How babies born before term are more sleepy and can sort of fall between the cracks and we want to pay attention to all her signs and cues
undress to feed will help and not to overfeed with formula if she is able to produce
helped mom latch and wake up the baby – explained difference between just baby on the breast and actively nursing (she somehow couldn't feel or understand the difference)
when I left I saw her successfully latch and explained how important it is to make sure to look for the dirty diapers, to make sure they check her weight, if nurses are truly concerned about baby's weight. I checked also the nurses and they said baby will be weighed in one hour and I was already leaving for the day.
But latch was great and baby was nursing well when I left
