mom says she always has trouble nursing because she has trouble making milk and it always stops after a few months
she has pain on her nipple – a line of wound on one nipple and when he finished nursing, on one side its lipstick and the other side was smushed but looked swollen.
the baby's latch looked good though and was sucking nicely. I tried helping get a deeper latch and mom said it was a bit better but she didn't seem so eager for change. She told me last delivery the lactation consultant explained to do a triple feed – feed, pump , bottle. and she doesn't want to do that. I told her that the best plan if she wants to build and maintain her supply would be to start pumping after every feed for about 5 min per side for about 2 weeks to try and build up supply and see if there is any change in production. she should temporarily feed on demand and not count the hours. but again ,mom wasn't to excited because she has other kids and she also said she will do what she can for as long as she can and that's all. I tried to explain breastfeeding management but she wasn't interested
