pain on both nipples. said she saw small blood on one of them previously. and "bubbles" on her nipples after a feed. but the latch looked good. I checked the baby and it didn't seem there was a tongue tie either. she said she had tried different positions with different consultants – the laid bak natural pose and the cradle/cross cradle and each is still hurting. she said some of the pain maybe from being raw but that she was concerned about these bubbles on nipples. After the baby finished, I checked and didn't see bubbles. What I saw was what a nipple looks like after its been sucked on and no longer looks like a pre-nursing nipple. moms milk had really come in a nd I cautioned abut engorgement so to do frequent feedings and wake her up if its been longer than 3 hours. mom really wanted to start lengthening the time between feeds. I said not to do that just yet. but she said her baby can sleep 5 hours and then she will wake her up at night for the feed but likes to get the 5 hours at night stretch.
we did football pose just to see and mom liked it. and she did it also on her own. went over breastfeeding management and helped clarify things like not feeding only one breast at a time .
