mom complaining that nipple hurts now when latching. baby will be on first breast only 5-7minutes and gulping and then completely uninterested in the second breast and won't latch that long and then an hour later is hungry all over again.
I noticed baby has a big recessed lower jaw so suggested football position. She wasn't so interested in it.
mom seems to possibly have a large let down which may contribute to the baby gulping a lot and then not interested in the other breast
she spits up a bit after a feed as well and is awake and alert but not interested in more.
Suggested to mom to try and nurse on one side until the letdown comes and then switch sides. It may help with the quantity. also went over breastfeeding management but mom was not interested in changing a diaper between sides even when baby has a dirty diaper. which today she did.
but baby is gaining weight appropriately.
