woman refusing to feed baby

mom says she nursed and skin to skin in delivery room
saw her 10 hours after delivery and baby basically never ate
told me her mother had 14 children and never fed the babies until 12 hours after delivery and no need to feed her baby but also told me she tried nursing and she nursed
when she showed me the latch it was non existant
baby went into shut down mode
would not even suck on my finger
I tried to express milk and nothing came out
told her to do skin to skin and I would return
brought Kayla with me
mom said she managed to get baby to latch after skin to skin but there was no latch again
she was not concerned about baby not eating but refused to let us give any formula
we tried massaging and hand expression – got 1-2cc colostrum and finger fed the baby
baby started showing signs of hunger but mom wouldn't really listen
I got materna to show her how we would give more to the baby with finer feeding and she wasn't interested – just wanted to go have food
we checked the nurses station and said baby hasn't eaten and mom is refusing to work with us
when Kayla returned 3 hours later, mom was still refusing but Kayla convinced mom to give syringe of formula while FF and mom reluctantly agreed (now it was 15 hours pp) and they gave her 9cc formula

my question is what could we have done differently? this wont happen while on a house call of course but what do you do when mom is refusing to feed the baby?

מעדכנת את התינוקיה והאחיות.
שואלת אותם מה הםם מציעים
מסבירה לאימא למה חשוב שהתינוק יאכל
מסבירה וכותבת על יציאות וכו
היא בבית חולים אז ישקלו ויראו מה קורה.
דווקא בביקורי בית זה יותר מפחיד כשאימא לא מקשיבה לך
